A modern-styled Barolo with fleshy cherry and red plum supported by dried floral tones. Notes of autumn leaves. tanned leather, black plum, liquorice and cocoa powder. It's refreshing to see broader Nebbiolo tannins adding to a more approachable texture to this high intensity style.

From plots that are South and South-West facing at 350m elevation. Some vines are 50 years old, producing precious little concentrated fruit. Fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, being left on skins 35 days and subjected to daily pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation is completed in steel after pressing. The wine is matured for 30 months in 25-50 hectolitre oak and finally is bottled without filtration.

Established in the 1940s by Francesco Sobrero, this family-run winery has been carefully managed by third generation Flavio Sobrero since 2000. The family manages 16 hectares, three quarters of which are located in the heart of Langhe’s Castiglione Falletto region. Producing some of the region’s top-tier Langhe Nebbiolo, Sobrero is also lucky enough to own vines within six magnificent Crus: Villero, Pernanno, Ornato, Piantà, Valentino and Parussi. We were incredibly impressed by the balance between old and new school Nebbiolo expressions, and the conversion to organics in 2020 marks a new chapter in their family history.
